Cute But Deadly
WTF or Waifu Tactical Force is a movement shooter, but I would say the main theme is what will catch everyone’s attention. While normally shooters involve big ugly alpha males that want nothing but to shred you alive with their bullets, this one takes a cuter approach. Yes, these adorable girls are hunting you down, and they have their heart-shaped sights set on you.
Shockingly Not Porn
I must admit when you first see the game on Steam and just notice an anime character with those big “eyes” and colorful hair, ninety percent of the time you are probably going to run into porn. Yeah, the main mascot for the game is a girl wearing a maid outfit, but don’t let that fool you, there is an actual game in there.
A Basic First Person Shooter
Right now, the game is in alpha with a few loadouts that you can test in a 2v2 match. There will be a 3v3 mode during the full initial release, though. You have a main weapon, secondary pistol and different grenade types. You can deploy shields, heal yourself, or go the old-fashioned route of exploding grenades in your enemies’ faces. While it does have its glitches and issues, again this is just in alpha right now, I was somewhat shocked at how smooth it was, and the available map was well designed. The movement system feels fluid with sprint, slide, and dash mechanics. If you told me I would have had some fun on a game like this I would have called you a liar.
The Future of Waifu Tactical Force
While the alpha was a bit bare, they have announced a few things that they will be adding:
- As said before, a 3v3 mode
- Base building mechanics where you manage a “Mother Base”
- Different character loadouts with unique tactical bonuses (wondering if it will be microtransaction-based)
- A visual novel framework with dating sim elements
- Character collection system featuring recruitable waifus
There is currently a demo on Steam that you can find here. The game is scheduled to be released in 2026, giving the developers plenty of time to flesh out these ambitious features and fix the current technical issues.
